Luke’s Lobster, a New York-based but Maine-inspired chain, is expanding its Boston presence. With locations already open in Boston’s Back Bay (July 2015) and Downtown Crossing (September 2016) neighborhoods, the growing chain will appear in the Seaport District next, as Boston Restaurant Talk reported. The new location will be at 53 Northern Ave., and it will open later this summer, per a Luke’s rep.

The company provided the following statement on the forthcoming expansion:

Boston, the biggest city in New England, has a high appreciation for quality seafood and one we are very proud to have such a strong following in. To have been named Boston’s Best Lobster Roll when we opened in 2016 and a top seafood restaurant in 2017 was an honor for our brand and a credit to our sourcing, supply chain, and fishermen. The Seaport is one of Boston’s fastest growing neighborhoods for both business and residential developments, with some of the finest fast casual brands like Shake Shack, Sweetgreen and By Chloe opening in the area. We are excited to join our friends and bring our traceable, sustainable seafood to diners in the Seaport later this summer.
Luke’s originated in New York City’s East Village back in 2009, but founder Luke Holden, who has worked as a lobsterman, is a native of Maine. The company sources its lobster and other seafood from sustainable fisheries throughout Maine and Canada. There are now Luke’s Lobster locations in D.C., Philadelphia, Vegas, and beyond (there are even several in Japan.)

On the menu: lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls (try a trio, which includes half of each of those); chowder; and a few other items.
