LoveShackFancy Launches a Dreamy Line of Homewares That Are Heirloom-Ready

“We never throw anything away in terms of textiles. So I had our factories send me all of our fabric scraps, which I use in our stores and at dinner parties. I’ve placed them all over tables as tablecloths. I made cushion chairs with them, I made pillows, I made napkins,” says Rebecca Hessel Cohen, founder of LoveShackFancy. “I was always just playing around with that personally and then people started to ask, when are we selling these?”

For a time, Hessel Cohen didn’t have an answer. But now, it’s: today! LoveShackFancy’s very first collection for the home is available online, as well as at the brand’s soon-to-be opened shop at Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza.

Fans of the romantic label, and its dolly prairie dresses that look as though they should be worn during an alfresco nap in a wildflower meadow, can now infuse the same heady romance into their home. Among the collection are soft pieces—tablecloths, napkins, placemats, cloth napkin rings—splashed with the label’s custom-made, handpainted chintz and florals. “It’s really a mix of this kind of Victoriana meets Laura Ashley world, being able to match your table to your dresses and to your daughter’s bow and their dresses and everyone else in the room,” says Hessel Cohen.

Yes, there are bows (they festoon the napkin rings). Then there is a lacy tablecloth that looks straight out of a past century—a recreation of an Edwardian version made of linen—that the designer cites as one of her favorites among the offerings. There is a blurry floral textile—an ikat designed by the same artist who hand-paints their prints, which are manufactured in India—that comes in napkins and tablecloths which are trimmed with hand-stitched ribbons. And Hessel Cohen didn’t forget about seating! There are heart-shaped cushions to adorn your chairs.

The color scheme is muted to appear aged, with powdery blues, dusty roses, and not-quite-white whites. Everything is meant to be layered, and mixed and matched as is typical in the world of LoveShackFancy.

As for the timing of the release, Hessel Cohen had the holidays in mind. “Everyone always pays attention to their tables in summer. And then again, during holidays.” It’s a chance to decorate your family table in something other than reds and greens, and of course, it’s a collection that also makes for the loveliest of gifts.

Price-wise, there is a wide range; from a $25 ribbon napkin ring to a $595 gauzy table cloth with inset lace details. “I wanted the collection to be somewhat affordable and attainable to a variety of ages so that shoppers have something they can layer into their existing collection of home goods. And hopefully, it starts to get younger girls buying to create their own collection.”
