WS Development Partners with Electrify America to Bring EV Charging Stations to its Destinations
Boston, MA WS Development has formed a new collaboration with Electrify America, one of the largest open hyper-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging networks in the U.S., to introduce EV charging stations at many of its retail destinations beginning this winter. Among the largest privately held mixed-use development firms in the country, WS Development owns and operates more than 100 properties spanning urban, lifestyle, and community centers. As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and clean energy, this collaboration will bring convenient, hyper-fast EV charging to properties across the company’s national portfolio, allowing guests to recharge while they shop, dine, and enjoy their visit.
The new Electrify America charging stations will roll out across over 15 WS Development properties beginning in early 2026 with The Shops at Blackstone Valley (Millbury, MA), Wal-Mart Plaza (Salem, MA), and The Street Chestnut Hill (Chestnut Hill, MA), with installations across other properties in Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Illinois, and California to follow. The full list of properties to receive EV charging stations along with the official launch dates will be available soon.
“Partnering with Electrify America allows us to take another meaningful step toward making sustainability part of the everyday experience at our properties,” said Jake Stahl, chief financial officer of WS Development. “We’re proud to offer our visitors the convenience of fast, reliable EV charging while investing in clean energy solutions that support the future of our communities.”
“Electrify America is proud to collaborate with WS Development to bring Hyper-Fast EV charging to some of the most iconic retail destinations in the country,” said Rachel Moses, sr. director, sales, business development, & marketing at Electrify America. “Our white label solution enables WS Development to operate its own charging network while leveraging Electrify America’s trusted technology, network scale, and seamless experience. This approach combines innovation with convenience, helping drivers charge with confidence and making electric transportation an easy choice.”
WS Development’s stations will be integrated into the Electrify America app and network, allowing drivers to easily locate chargers, initiate sessions, and pay all within the same intuitive platform they already know and trust.
Electrify America has over 5,000 chargers providing coast-to-coast coverage across 47 states, D.C., and seven provinces in Canada.
Setting the standard for speed, Electrify America offers the largest public installation of up to 350 kW DC fast chargers, built to support today’s high-powered vehicles. Electrify America also leads in energy innovation, deploying over 170 stations with battery energy storage systems (BESS) that increase charging capacity while easing stress on the grid. Its Technology Campus ensures high reliability and a seamless customer experience through more than 56,000 hours of testing in its labs across over 45 vehicle models and 25 automotive brands.
Joining the Electrify America network builds on WS Development’s long-term commitment to sustainability. In 2023, the company entered a seven-year agreement to power its New England portfolio, including Legacy Place, The Street Chestnut Hill, and multiple Seaport properties, with 100 percent renewable electricity.
