Aceituna Grill Opens a New Location in the Seaport

The local company has been serving up fast and fresh Mediterranean fare in Cambridge for more than a decade.

Boston’s landscape of quick-service, fresh Mediterranean fare has a new, family-owned option: Aceituna Grill debuts its second location on tomorrow in the Seaport, Eater Boston first reported. The Cambridge original has been dishing out shawarma wraps, loaded salads, falafel platters and more in Kendall Square since 2004.

Gina Kurban and her son, AJ, are behind the scratch-made menu, which will be the same in Boston as it is in Cambridge. Choose your own adventure from vertical spit-roasted beef and lamb, chicken (spicy or not), or vegan falafel, atop a rice bowl or salad, or inside a soft pita. Mix it up with add-ons like hummus, fattoush, Aceituna secret spicy sauce, pickled turnips, and more, and on the side, try fried cauliflower, or lentils and rice. There are also a couple sweet treats, like Lebanese osmalieh, a traditional orange- and rose-blossom cream pastry topped with shredded filo.

The second Aceituna Grill is located on the ground floor of the new 101 Seaport building, on the corner of Seaport Boulevard and Boston Wharf Road. It joins a couple mega-chains, and soon, the culinary options there will grow to include the highly anticipated first Boston outpost of by Chloe, plus an “Express” location of Medford’s Yoki Japanese Restaurant, an expansion from the New Haven Indian scene, Tikkaway Grill, and another Juice Press. The blossoming block is also home to the 100th Shake Shack, the second La Casa de Pedro outpost, Yo! Sushi, and more.

“The culinary options in the Seaport continue to grow at lightning speed,” notes Brian Sciera, vice president of WS Development, which is responsible for the new neighborhood. “It is particularly meaningful to bring a local, family owned business with a deep commitment to sharing their healthy, delicious Mediterranean recipes to 101 Seaport.”

Aceituna Grill seats 49 inside, and will also offer catering options. It officially opens Thursday, February 9, and will serve lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday.
