Glass act
While a road trip to Quechee, Vt., is always recommended (especially in autumn), it’s nice to have options nearby. Glassblower Simon Pearce just opened its second Boston-area shop, in Chestnut Hill, featuring offerings beyond those of the smaller scale Newbury Street store, including a lighting studio and a design center. The aesthetic is Vermont artisanal meets contemporary. James Murray, vice president of product development and design, explains, “Our intention is to welcome customers to explore the world of handcrafted excellence by bringing the essence of the Vermont countryside to Chestnut Hill.”
