Hermès to Relocate Palm Beach Store

Hermès is moving off Worth Avenue to the Royal Poinciana Plaza, which is undergoing a complete renovation.

In alignment with its evolving U.S. retail strategy, Hermès’ announced the relocation of its Palm Beach, Fla., boutique from 240 Worth Avenue to the Royal Poinciana Plaza, where it will occupy an 8,000-square-foot space. It is expected to open in November 2017.

The Royal Poinciana Plaza is a classic example of John Volk’s signature Palm Beach style. With 180,000 square feet of retail space and lush sprawling gardens, the landmarked property was built in the Fifties and is being redeveloped by Up Markets. It’s being restored by Smith and Moore architects and Nievera Williams Design landscape architects.

This new boutique will mark Hermès’ 40th anniversary in Palm Beach, having introduced its first boutique in 1977 — even before the opening of its first flagship in Manhattan. Since then, Palm Beach has remained a signature outpost of the Parisian, family-owned company.

In recent years, Hermès has embarked on a U.S. program of expansion allowing for a more comprehensive presentation of its collections of handmade products. The new stores allow for all 16 of Hermès’ product categories to be displayed, including leather bags and luggage, diaries and small leather goods, equestrian apparel and accessories, men’s and women’s silk, men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, fine jewelry, watches, belts, gloves, shoes, hats, enamel and fashion jewelry, perfume, tableware, art of living — featuring the new ranges of Hermès furniture, furnishing fabrics and wallpaper.
