The Shops at Blackstone Valley Announces Plans for a Nearly 35,000-Square-Foot Retail Destination
The Shops at Blackstone Valley, an outdoor mall development in Central Massachusetts, is set to expand significantly this year, with plans for 35,000 sq. ft. of new retail space, according to its developer.
WS Development, the same developer leading growth the Seaport, said Tuesday it has plans to add two buildings at the Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury, which it said will have space for 10 new businesses.
Yard House has signed on as the anchor tenant of the expansion, with Shake Shack, Sweetgreen and med spa chain LaserAway also on the roster. Additional tenants will be announced, according to WS Development. The developer plans to complete the first phase of construction in the middle of this year.
The Millbury shopping development has continued to grow in recent years, adding fashion retailer Coach last year and the first Lululemon store in Central Mass.
“The Shops at Blackstone Valley continues to evolve as a destination that reflects how our community shops, dines, and spends time together,” said WS Development’s vice chairman and co-CIO Eric Smookler.
The plan for expansion includes property-wide improvements at Blackstone, including new pedestrian walkways and landscaping, and additional EV charging stations.
